Will my new teeth look like fake teeth?

No matter what procedure is performed, you want teeth that look natural and match your existing teeth in shape and colour. You also want to be able to eat all of the foods you love without discomfort, and without worrying about damaging your tooth replacements.

‘All-on-4’ teeth provide you with natural looking teeth, and you can bite harder with an ‘All-on-4’ denture secured to implants than you can with other options, so you can continue to eat the foods you love most.

Unlike ‘Snap-On’ Overdentures or conventional Full or Partial dentures which are easily removable by the patient for daily cleaning, ‘All-on-4’  dentures are not removable by the wearer; these are a much more permanent solution.

‘All-on-4’ implants:

  • Fill out the hollows caused by missing teeth and loss of bone. As with all implants, ‘All-on-4’ implants help to prevent bone deterioration.
  • Do not require grinding and affixing supporting framework. As these are permanent implants, it’s unnecessary to use adhesives to keep them in place.
  • Because these are implanted in the bone, there’s less risk of damaging the implant while eating. ‘All-on-4’ allows for a bite of up to 70% increased force over other replacement types, so you can eat most of your favorite foods without worry.

How do ‘All-on-4’ dental implants work?

‘All-on-4’  dental-implants require 4 implants per arch (top and bottom). These dental-implants can be placed at any angle, allowing for better contact and support from the bone. In many traditional implant procedures, there is a need for bone grafting to stabilize the implant; however, for most patients, the ‘All-on-4’ process does not require bone grafting.

Am I a good candidate for ‘All-on-4’ dental implants?

Anyone in good health who either already wears dentures, or might need dentures is a possible candidate for the ‘All-on-4’ dental implants, on upper or lower teeth. We take extensive care when learning about your oral health, so we can present you with the best options available.

dental impressions

During the first stage, we perform an intraoral examination, take digital facial and intraoral pictures, diagnostic impressions, panoramic x-rays, and a CBCT Scan. All of this information is reviewed by VICTOR MINAS, Denturist, to decide if you are a good candidate for an Overdenture on denture-implants (‘Snap-On’) or an “All-on-4” solution on dental-implants.

review with patient

All available options are presented to you, including the steps and pricing, for review. If you choose the ‘All-on-4’ implants, the next step is the dental implant surgery. This type of implant surgery usually takes less than three hours. You will be sedated during the procedure. Victor Minas will arrange the extraction(s), bone re-contouring, sinus lifts and bone augmentation (grafts) as required, and the dental implants will be secured to your jaw bone.

patient rest

After surgery, you can recover comfortably in our private, monitored recovery room. Your permanent teeth are not affixed immediately; your jaw bone and gums take time to heal. However, we place temporary ‘All-on-4’ teeth that covers the dental implants. This temporary solution is screwed to the dental implants so you can continue to eat and drink normally until you are ready for your permanent teeth.
